I’m Wes Kuhlman, and I run the crews at Nu Day Moving. Ask a family what ambushed them and it’s almost always the packing — the kitchen by itself swallows an evening nobody set aside for it. That’s why we built it out as a proper skill of its own, not a chore crammed in on the way to the truck. We’ve packed Champaign-Urbana homes since 2015.
Wardrobe boxes for the closets, paper for the glass, cartons and tape for the rest — all of it rolls into a single flat figure. Downtown and near-campus walk-ups are full of built-ins, heirloom glass, and closets no carton was ever cut to fit. Out in the Savoy and Mahomet subdivisions the trouble flips to sheer bulk: spare bedrooms, a bonus room, a packed garage. Two different puzzles, and one crew that works the plan out while we walk your rooms together.
There’s no law that packing waits for move morning. Plenty of our families have us box on a weeknight so the Saturday load-out goes at an easy pace, and that evening work adds nothing to the total. Once it’s taped shut you’ll still need wheels under it — grab local moving across town, or long-distance moving if you’re leaving Illinois. Boxes waiting on a date?
