“Chance and Jason were great through the entire process. They showed up on time, wrapped and taped all of the furniture that was moved, and put everything in our new place where we asked. They did not cause any damage to the walls or any of our property and were professional the entire time.”
I’m Wes Kuhlman, owner of Nu Day Moving, and Monticello is one of my favorite corners of our map. It’s the Piatt County seat off to the west, with a genuinely handsome historic downtown, the tree-lined old neighborhoods around it, and Allerton Park just south drawing folks who want that small-city-meets-country feel. My crew runs it as a steady part of our western coverage, an easy shot down I-72.
Monticello splits between the older near-downtown homes — with their period staircases, plaster walls, and antique-heavy interiors — and the newer builds and acreage spreading out around town. We route and pack for both before we arrive.
- Historic homes around Monticello’s downtown square and older streets
- Newer subdivisions and acreage properties out toward Allerton Park
- Straight I-72 access west from Champaign-Urbana
The older Monticello homes tend to be full of antiques and fragile pieces, so our crew pads, wraps, and floor-protects those as standard — never an upcharge dressed up as a special service.
Monticello moves book through our local moving crew, with full-pack service a favorite for the antique-heavy historic homes. Heading back east, Mahomet is our natural neighbor on the western run.
