I’m Wes Kuhlman, a Champaign native who spent my University of Illinois years — and a good stretch after — hauling students in and out of Campustown apartments. That work drilled two things into me: which corners a 26-foot truck can actually make on Green Street, and how badly families get squeezed when the price rides on a ticking hourly clock during the August rush.
Why I built this in 2015
The complaint was always the same — nobody would commit to a real number before move day. So in 2015 I put together a crew around the reverse idea: size the job, write the flat price down, sign it, and stand behind it. A clean start for the customer, a fresh day for us. That’s where the name came from.
Who you’ll be working with
The roster runs 20 people, and 16 of them are on a truck any given day. Paige Sattler runs the office — scheduling, certificates of insurance, and billing. Cole Rhoades works the daily truck board across Champaign County. On the crew, Brant Eiler leads our tight-stairwell and specialty jobs in the downtown walk-ups, Deshawn Prather heads the long-haul lane down the I-57 and I-74 corridors and the snowbird runs south, and Marcus Tiller is our Campustown move-in/move-out specialist for the U of I turnover weeks.
