“Cant show my gratitude enough for these two gentlemen here. Shay & Ben handled the everything from start to finished. Incredible work/very professional !”
I’m Wes Kuhlman, and I run Nu Day Moving. Apartments come with their own headaches — a lone working elevator, a leasing office that keeps the dock locked until a certificate of insurance is in hand, a move-out deadline that couldn’t care less about your schedule. In a college town, a heap of them stack onto one weekend. We’ve been navigating these buildings since 2015.
Paperwork squared before load day
Campustown high-rises and the newer Green Street towers rarely open a dock without a COI filed and an elevator window booked. Paige Sattler gets the property manager on the line, has the certificate drafted to their exact wording, and locks the elevator slot so your crew spends the hour carrying, not loitering in the lobby.
| Crew | Rate | Typical unit |
|---|---|---|
| 2 movers + truck | $135/hr | Studios and 1BR units |
| 3 movers + truck | $185/hr | 2BR and up, upper-floor walk-ups |
Flat rates by unit type
| Unit | Flat rate |
|---|---|
| Ground-floor studio | $395 – $535 |
| 1BR in an elevator high-rise | $490 – $670 |
| 2BR third-floor walk-up | $800 – $1,085 |
| Condo with a parking-garage entry | $630 – $915 |
| Certificate of insurance for the building | Free of charge |
Pads, dollies, and shrink-wrap come with every apartment job at no separate line, alongside cargo coverage up to $1,000,000 per shipment. A COI has never once shown up as a charge on one of our bills.
The August and May campus flip
Green Street, the PAR and FAR dorm corridor, and the Ikenberry high-rises all cycle over inside a handful of frantic days each semester, then flip back the other direction come spring. Marcus Tiller keeps the Campustown calendar, and he’ll tell you flat out which complexes funnel every truck through a single gate and which meter the freight elevator in twenty-minute slices.
Ahead of your date, he’ll already have nailed down:
- The certificate of insurance, issued to your leasing office at no charge
- A reserved freight-elevator window so the crew isn’t waiting on it
- The right dock or gate entry for buildings that only allow one
- A game plan for the semester dates that book out first
Iced stairs, flat weekend pricing
A January walk-up on the third floor means the exterior stairs are sheeted in ice, so our crew hauls traction mats and ice-melt right through February. And since a big share of lease turnovers hit a Friday night or Saturday, weekend slots bill at the identical hourly rate you’d pay on a Wednesday. No stomach for boxing during finals? Hand it to full-service packing. Caught between lease dates? Short-term storage holds your things. Trading up to a house? Local moving is your page, and the moving calculator hands you a figure right now.
